Every February, Cub Scout packs across the nation celebrate Scouting's birthday with a Blue and Gold banquet. Many packs use this time to officially "bridge" Webelos 2 scouts over to Boy Scouts once they have earned their coveted Arrow of Light badge.
Our Pack's Unique Twist:
We acknowledge all the Scouts' rank advancements together at the end of the scouting year, and we keep our Blue and Gold light and fun! We transformed it into a delicious potluck dinner – a perfect opportunity for community building and fun.
Why Potlucks are Awesome:
- Strong Community: Potlucks foster a sense of shared responsibility and teamwork. It's a fantastic way for newer families to connect with other families who are not in their den.
- Variety and Deliciousness: The potluck offers a diverse and delectable spread of food. It's a fun way for kids to try new things and enjoy a meal together.
- Relaxed Atmosphere: Potlucks are naturally casual, creating a more relaxed and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Fun with Minimal Effort
Our pack found the potluck format is a perfect way to celebrate in February, especially after a busy few months of scouting and personal activities. The relaxed atmosphere and delicious food created a fun and memorable experience for everyone.
